1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Responsible for assisting with the daily management of all aspects of the golf shop and golf operation at the club.

Duties:
• Assist in all aspects of management of employees, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training all golf shop and golf operations staff utilizing standard company procedures. Make staffing, disciplinary, and compensation recommendations to the department head.
• Assist PGA TOUR players, members, and guests with their golfing needs, ensuring that every step of their golf experience at the club runs smoothly and is enjoyable.
• Assume management responsibility in the golf shop during peak periods, ensuring service standards are maintained.
• Assist with writing and conducting annual and semi-annual employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Provide input on employee readiness for promotions, transfers, or out-placement.
• Assist the head golf professional with labor management and cost controls by planning for and scheduling labor for golf shop and outside golf staff as needed.
• Oversee outside golf operations, ensuring membership and guest services, practice facility setup, golf car maintenance, golf bag storage, and golf club repair activities. Work closely with outside golf staff and club administration to coordinate all golf-related activities.
• Promote golf by teaching and conducting player development programs (where applicable) and staffing club tournament events established by the head professional and general manager. Practice golf and play with members and guests as necessary.
• Maintain the playing standards required for all golf professionals in the TPC Network.
• Assist with timely completion of submissions and applications for Golf World Business Top 100. Present completed presentation to the head golf professional for review before submission.
• Establish and administer the club tournament program. Assist in developing promotional materials to communicate programs to members and guests as needed.
• Ensure the locker room staff provides the highest level of service and cleanliness standards. Maintain and replenish supplies of towels and personal hygiene amenities as necessary.
• Assist the head golf professional with the development of the golf operations budget and annual golf shop operating budget. Manage line items while controlling general expenses for the entire golf operation.
• Maintain control of employee uniforms, ensuring uniforms and name tags are worn and kept in proper condition.
• Prepare the monthly merchandise report from month-end reports. Check in merchandise and ensure storage areas and merchandise displays are orderly and stocked at inventory levels.
• Assist with maintaining the purchase order system, ordering, and receiving program to ensure proper quantity and price on all purchases. Assist with physical inventories as prescribed by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc.
• Answer telephones clearly and concisely to schedule future starting time reservations and communicate information professionally.
• Manage pace of play and, if applicable, provide a biweekly pace of play sheet to the head golf professional.
• Perform all functions of the Assistant Golf Professional II position as needed.
• Complete special projects as needed.
• Special projects or other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, business management, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent.
Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and professional golf operations practices and procedures, acquired through three to five years of similar professional golf experience in progressively responsible positions.
Prior supervisory experience required.
Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices necessary.
Registered PGA apprentice or current PGA member in good standing.
