Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Reno, Nevada is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assists in administering all daily operations including, but not limited to: facilitating sales, organizing and executing tournament setup, assisting with merchandise, operating POS system, managing handicap and tee sheet applications, acts as ranger, starter, guest relations, outside service or golf shop shifts.

Duties:
• Train and implement procedures for Golf, Pro Shop Attendants, and Outside Services Staff.
• Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet the staffing needs of Golf Operations, the Pro Shop, Outside Services, and the golf club repair business, and recruit and hire staff as warranted to provide a superior level of Member Services.
• Profit/Loss responsibility for merchandise in the Pro Shop, assist with budget planning, maintaining inventory levels, implementing inventory control, and counting procedures for staff to follow to ensure constantly stocked items.
• Establish standards for merchandise display, pricing, and promotions to be followed by golf shop attendants to encourage sales and address member orders.
• Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management.
• In the event of the Director of Golf/Head Golf professional’s absence, supervise and manage all aspects of the golf department.
• Be informed of and promote all club activities and services, including selling and managing tournaments and other special events (scheduling, directing, and utilizing staff to perform necessary functions to provide successful tournaments and special events).
• Direct and guide staff, according to Invited and PGA Standards, promote golf clinics, private lessons, adult, junior, and senior programs, and assist, as necessary, to ensure Member satisfaction and that Club Standards are met. Also, have the ability to teach and provide instruction.

Requirements:
Candidates must understand key areas of golf management,
including operations, coaching, business planning, customer relations, and more.
Requirements include enrollment in the PGA program, passing the Player Ability Test (PAT), and having at least 16 months of relevant golf industry experience.
PGA professionals must maintain their certification through ongoing education, including annual professional development and staying current with industry trends, or by demonstrating advanced knowledge through increased responsibilities or 3-5years of experience in a similar role.
