Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Winfield, Illinois is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Work alongside the Head Golf Professional and Department Managers to deliver an exceptional golf experience to the members and guests. This all-encompassing position will focus on day-to-day golf shop operations, merchandising, bag/cart attendant, tournament and outing operations, junior golf camp instruction, and league play. The role is meant to be supportive, but also an apprenticeship in which the individual is educating themselves toward advancement inside the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the daily operation of the golf operation with the support of the head golf professional.
• Complete operation of the point-of-sale system.
• Customer data entry.
• Tee sheet management.
• Sales – tee times, merchandise, grab-n-go cooler.
• Assist with merchandising including inventory control, merchandise displays, special orders, sales, and customer relations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests.
• Work with the bag attendants to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved.
• Assist and maintain golf cart operations.
• Assist in tournament and outing operations and weekly leagues including planning, pre-event meetings, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, scoring, prize distribution, and follow-up.
• Provide instruction through junior golf camps.
• Assist in coordinating golf activities with the food & beverage department.
• Maintain a visible presence as an ambassador for the club. Create opportunities to be involved with the members and guests.
• Deliver a member and guest experience with a primary focus on service and hospitality.
• Cultivate and maintain an effective working relationship with the entire golf operation team, food & beverage team, and club management.
• 5-6 day work week.

Requirements:
Entry level PGA associate or PGM intern preferred but not required.
Previous experience working in the golf business a plus.
High attention to detail.
Great communicator.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
An aspiration to learn and grow as a professional.
Computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel, Google Docs/Sheets).
Training provided on Golf Genius, Club Caddie POS.

Compensation:
$800.00 – $1,000.00 per week.
