Head Golf Professional
Country Club in East Providence, Rhode Island is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Essential Responsibilities:
• Complete oversight of day-to-day tee sheet and food service/beverage operations.
• Weekly scheduling of full and part-time staff, assistance in hiring and termination of employees.
• Implement comprehensive staff training protocols in conjunction with procedure manuals developed.
• Ensure consistent high standards of staff performance through use of effective performance management techniques, this will include the provision of ongoing direction and the setting and monitoring of clear goals and targets for staff.
• Assist or oversee operation of golf leagues, tournaments, outings, and other special events; including proper communication, golf course and golf cart setup, food service, scoring and announcements, monies collection, among other duties.
• Initiate and deliver new activities to coordinate a successful reopening of the property.
• Assist with the website to ensure it provides up-to-date, relevant, and interesting content.
• Assist the club’s digital communication including e-newsletters, email updates, and social media, embracing fresh ways of improving communication as opportunities arise.
• Act as a reliable and informative point of reference for members/patrons on club and golf matters, obtain and interpret feedback.
• Ensure that acceptable standards of behavior are adhered to on club property.
• Handle all pro shop purchasing, pricing, and proper inventory management.
• Actively participate in the preparation of club budget and business plan.
• Monitor actual performance and key variances within monthly reports.
• Support the club’s junior development programs as liaison with PGA Jr. League and local schools.
• Provide lessons and clinics to golfers of all ages and skill levels.
• Work with Golf Course Ownership and Director of Operations to develop new and unique ideas for both golf and non-golf related events.
• When necessary, act as bartender and/or cook, deliver proper food and beverage handling techniques and oversee the cleanliness of the entire building.
• Complete weekly ordering for food and beverage items and cleaning supplies (shopping as needed).
• Promote usage of banquet room/tent for event rentals.
• Other duties as assigned by Golf Course Ownership Group and Director of Operations.

Requirements:
Leadership and good interpersonal/people management skills.
“Hands-on” flexible approach.
Good communicator both verbal and written.
Sound financial acumen.
Experience of business development and growing revenue streams.
Entrepreneurial approach to job duties, willingness to go above and beyond, and deliver outside the box and creative thinking mindset to club and its members.
Experience in golf course POS systems.
Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the position (weekends and holidays are required, in-season potentially over 40 hours/week, shortened hours in winter months).

Desirable:
A University/PGA recognized qualification or active desire to obtain.
Sound knowledge of the game of golf, knowledge of golfing equipment and accessories.
Experience in Golf Genius Tournament Management Software.
Knowledge of website content management, experience in social media and email marketing.
Basic knowledge of proper food handling, cooking skills, bar supervisory duties, and cleaning techniques.

Compensation:
$50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year.
