Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Manchester, Massachusetts is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Be involved in every aspect of the golf operation. This position reports to the Director of Golf and will work closely with the other members of the professional staff. Under the guidance of the Director of Golf and the golf department managers (two Senior Assistant Professionals) this individual will have the opportunity to learn, contribute and make an impact on our operation. Our team works together to ensure we provide an exceptional member and guest experience through a robust tournament calendar, a variety of instructional programs and an award-winning golf shop. In addition to assisting with all daily duties, this position will have specific responsibilities within tournament operations, junior golf programming, managing daily play and merchandising. These specific responsibilities will be discussed throughout the interview process and are determined by a candidates previous experiences and skills. A candidate that specializes in tournament operations will have ample opportunities for event responsibilities. This position is designed to help a seasonal professional continue their development during both summer and winter seasons.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide an exceptional service environment, striving to exceed the expectation of our members.
• Prioritize your visibility around the operation.
• Maintain consistent communication with the Director of Golf, golf department managers and the entire golf staff.
• Assist with the men’s, ladies’, mixed, junior and outside programs/events
• Assist in all aspects of the golf shop operation.
• Oversee the outside operations/manage the first tee during scheduled shifts.
• Provide private and group instruction to members.
• Ambassador for Essex County Club and the professional staff.
• Maintain a regular schedule playing with members; compete in NEPGA tournaments Continue personal and professional growth throughout the year.
• Maintain good standing with the PGA of America, completing necessary PDR requirements.

Requirements:
1+ years of experience as an Assistant Professional, preferably in a high-service, private club setting.
PGA Class A membership, or an Associate near election.
Basic understanding of Golf Genius.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
Well-groomed and neatly presented.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays – Assistant Professionals typically scheduled for an average of 45 hours / 5 days a week.

Compensation:
$30,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year.
