Head Golf Professional
Country Club in Newington, Connecticut is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Lead the Golf Management Team and oversee the comprehensive management of the golf operations with close collaboration across other departments at the golf club. This individual is entrusted with the exclusive responsibility of operating the Pro Shop, treating it as their own business venture independent of the golf club’s direct management.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Supervise all aspects of the golf operations including reservation system, starting procedures, pace of play, and accurately tracking and verification of all players and guests while ensuring precise accounting and recordkeeping.
• Manage the golf cart fleet, ensuring its proper maintenance and recordkeeping.
• Develop and manage innovative tournament programs, outside group outings, and leagues that cater to all customer segments.
• Oversee the operations of a well-maintained practice facility.
• Operate and manage all retail merchandise concessions which is the sole responsibility of the Head Golf Professional and includes overseeing the development of buying plans and all golf-related purchasing, supervising physical inventories, and ensuring a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories for the members.
• Develop necessary systems utilizing POS to safeguard inventories and cash and implement and adhere to accurate recordkeeping policies and procedures.
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive golf instruction program offering individual and group clinics for all skill levels and demographics through the management and availability of well-trained professional instructors and the use of PGA of America player development tools, resources, and materials.
• Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise all golf operations staff, maintaining accurate payroll records.
• Collaborate with all department heads to achieve facility goals and objectives including with the Club Manager, Golf Course Superintendent, Golf Chairman and Committee, Membership Chairman and House and Facilities Chairman.
• Coordinate with the third party Food and Beverage Manager on food and beverage needs for all golf functions.

Requirements:
Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with additional proficiency Golf Genius and USGA GHIN administration.
Extensive knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations.
Excellent written and oral business communication skills.

Compensation:
$75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year.
