Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Herndon, Virginia is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
The purpose of this position is to assist with golf course daily operations. Employees in this classification schedule and organize daily play, outings and tournaments; is responsible for golf course merchandising, promoting golfing activities and supervising part-time flexible staff. Participates in the golf instruction program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Opens and closes golf shop and clubhouse as required.
2. Assists in the management and daily operations of the golf course.
3. Oversees scheduling and control of available tee times.
4. Collects fees, accounts for receipts and reconciles daily tee sheets; prepares sales reports and bank deposits.
5. Coordinates group outings; manages set-up of tournaments
6. Coordinates merchandising, including but not limited to receiving, pricing, displaying and inventory.
7. Oversees implementation of the golf handicap program.
8. Assist with the management and implementation of the golf instruction program to include registration of participants and providing instruction of private lessons, group classes and camps. Provide instruction of free promotional clinics.
9. Provide club repair service to include but not limited to regripping of clubs.
10. Trains, supervises part-time flexible staff, handling employee concerns and problems, directing work, and counseling.
11. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Class A member of the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) in good standing required.
Supplemented by a minimum of five years’ experience as a golf professional; tournament and outing administration and merchandising.
Supplemented by a minimum of five years’ experience in golf instruction to include private, group and camp formats.
Supplemented by a minimum of three years’ experience in business management, personnel supervision.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.

Compensation:
$63,483.68 per year.
