2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Jackson, New Jersey is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Duties:
• Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, cart paths, and ponds.
• Schedule and oversee daily crew assignments to ensure efficient use of labor and equipment.
• Train and supervise team members on proper equipment use and agronomic practices.
• Supervise and participate in pesticide and fertilizer applications, including calibration of application equipment.
• Monitor and maintain the irrigation system, including repairs, hand-watering, drainage projects, and oversight of ponds to ensure they are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing.
• Collaborate with irrigation consultant Thomas Campbell of C-Tech Solutions on the upcoming irrigation system installation project, focusing on enhancing water efficiency and overall sustainability.
• Assist in personnel management, evaluations, safety training, and discipline.
• Maintain detailed records of chemical applications, irrigation schedules, and turf conditions.
• Ensure open communication with the superintendent, staff, and membership regarding course conditions and maintenance operations.

Requirements:
2 or 4-year degree/certificate in turf management or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working on a golf course, with at least two seasons of internship experience at a high-profile club preferred.
Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a solid work ethic.
Working knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, irrigation systems, and turfgrass health management.
Ability to effectively schedule, train, and lead a maintenance crew.
New Jersey pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain upon hiring).
Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Compensation:
$67,000 – $70,000 per year
