Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Watchung, New Jersey is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Play a key role in the daily operations of the club, assisting the Golf Course Superintendent in maintaining the course to the highest standards. This position provides an excellent opportunity for career development and hands-on experience in all aspects of golf course management. Duties:
• Assist in the planning and execution of golf course maintenance programs for the club.
• Supervise and lead a team of grounds maintenance staff in the care of the golf course.
• Assist with the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs.
• Oversee irrigation system operations, ensuring proper water management.
• Participate in the scheduling of daily tasks, ensuring the golf course is presented in excellent condition.
• Monitor turf health, pest management, and chemical applications.
• Ensure safety and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment and facility upkeep.
• Periodically visit Sugarloaf Field Club in Whitehall, NY, providing assistance with various maintenance tasks and gaining a new perspective on golf course management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent.

Requirements:
A degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
Previous experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and pesticide/fertilizer applications.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Pesticide Applicator License (or the ability to obtain one) preferred.
Flexible work schedule, including weekends and early mornings, as needed.
A positive attitude and a willingness to approach challenges with creativity and innovation.
An “outside-the-box” thinker, ready to bring fresh ideas to enhance the golf course’s overall maintenance and presentation.

Compensation:
$80,000 – $100,000 per year.
