Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Long Grove, Illinois is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Aids the Golf Course Superintendent in the leadership and execution of work schedules, maintenance programs and construction details. This person also helps direct the crew on the 18 holes for which they are responsible.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in planning daily work schedules.
• Assists and manages the hiring and training of employees.
• Supervises employees on a daily basis.
• Assists in supervision of various construction projects.
• Applies fertilizers and pesticides as needed.
• Helps prepare the course setup for daily play.
• Opportunities to lead projects.
• Involved with annual budget, agronomic, and chemical planning.
• Assists in snow removal.
• Sets good examples for others to follow in job performance, work safety, equipment care, attendance and striving for efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant/Turf Science or related field of study preferred.
1-2 years working on a golf course or similar field.
Knowledge of golf maintenance practices.
General knowledge of irrigation maintenance/repairs.
Strong work ethic and personal commitment to improving/maintaining course conditions.
Must have or be able to obtain a current Illinois driver’s l.
Must have or be able to obtain an Illinois Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate.

Compensation:
$70,000 – $75,000 per year.
