1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Manlius, New York is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
A successful candidate will serve as one of the key points of contact and interaction between our golf operations and membership. This role will have a highly visible presence while going above and beyond to provide a first-class experience for our members and their guests. You will work closely with the Head Golf Professional, golf shop staff, and outside operations to ensure full member satisfaction from arrival to departure from property. The candidate should have a can-do attitude and an outgoing personality. We are looking for someone who wants to make an impact, has a team-above-self attitude and is not afraid to go above and beyond. This role will give the right person the chance to develop a fantastic base of skills that will allow them to succeed in a progression to a Head Golf Professional role in the future.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Serve as an ambassador by providing exceptional customer service to both the club members and their guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Supervise and manage golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
• Member check in and 1st/10th tee management.
• Assist with management of outside operations staff to provide outstanding customer service to members and guests.
• Complete opening and closing procedures for the golf shop and assist the outside operations when necessary.
• Tournament and League set-up and execution using Golf Genius.
• Assisting in golf shop merchandising including receiving of goods and display creation.
• Maintain a clean and orderly appearance in and around the shop daily.
• Execute daily cart & guest fee charges as well as member & guest shop purchases.
• Assists in the creation of lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.
• Play an active role in Junior Golf Programs including clinics, group and private lessons, PGA Jr League and Drive, Chip & Putt competition preparation.
• Possess the desire to further develop the skills necessary to become a head golf professional including administration of the golf operation, tournament operations, merchandising, and golf instruction.

Requirements:
PGA or LPGA member or associate in good standing preferred.
Will consider pre-associate or aspiring pre-associate with sports management or hospitality background.
Drive to advance career and seeking training necessary to become head golf professional.
Well-versed in rules of golf.
Knowledge of Golf Genius software and GHIN handicap system.
Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and proficiency in POS software.
Experience in the golf industry at a private club is preferred but not required.

Compensation:
$40,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year.
