Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Silver Spring, Maryland is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assists the Head Golf Professional with all golf shop activities and outside service operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that each member and their guests receive outstanding customer service. Our goal is to ensure a first-class experience. The position will be instrumental in assisting, organizing, and implementing all golf events. This includes teaching clinics and other golf programs designed to improve the club’s product.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist with organizing and implementing tournaments, group outings, and special events.
• Ensure efficient operation and coordination of golf shop, cart service, and other services as applicable.
• Organize and handle all details for group outings, special events, and tournaments including meals, tee times, and other activities. Manage communication between departments to help ensure coordination of all guests’ needs and activities.
• Handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and communicate clearly pertinent details of events/outings in order to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Cross-train other staff members on the general outing/event process to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Be fully knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise. Sell merchandise and/or provide suggestions to patrons as appropriate to meet their needs.
• Keep display areas stocked and clean in Golf Pro Shop and sell merchandise and conduct daily business sales and accounting for cash at registers in the Pro Shop.
• Open and close Pro Shop.
• Conduct individual and group golf lessons and clinics.
• Direct all play on the golf course and instruct members and guests in course and LWM rules.
• Collect green, cart, and other fees.
• Monitor and adhere to departmental goals and deadlines.
• Respond to questions, complaints, and concerns regarding golf-related issues, policies, and procedures from residents and the public.
• Interact with residents and visitors in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by Head Golf Professional and/or General Manager.

Requirements:
Candidates must have three (3) or more years’ of experience as a golf professional at a private or public facility.
Must be a highly motivated, hardworking and a team player.
Qualified applicants must be service-oriented, possess exceptional communication skills and attention to detail, energy and self-confidence and display a genuine attitude towards people.
PGA Member preferred.

Compensation:
$24.00 per hour.
