Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in North Coventry, Pennsylvania is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, the position directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course greens, tees, fairways and all other features of the golf course and grounds. The position may serve in the Golf Course Superintendent’s capacity during his absence.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairways; schedules work and supervises the green department staff and the use of the equipment.
• Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
• Assists in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety and personnel discipline.
• Assists with the hiring, training, direction, supervision, and evaluation of seasonal maintenance staff.
• Keep accurate and complete records.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
Graduate of two- or four-year turf grass program or related field.
3-5 years golf course management experience.
Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways, rough and fine fescue areas.
Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment; to prepare clear and concise reports; and to maintain effective employee and public relations.
Possession of a valid PA driver’s license.
Must have or obtain PA pesticide applicator license.
Participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses, field days, and trade shows.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Willing to work 6 days per week on average in season.
Must assist with snow removal operations.

Compensation:
$60,000 – $70,000 per year.
