Head Golf Professional
Golf course in Layton, Utah is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Essential Duties:
• Manage all aspects of the golf operations, including the golf shop, tournaments and lessons.
• Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of golf staff to ensure professional standards.
• Develop and implement innovative golf programs and events to engage the golfing community.
• Collaborate with management to achieve financial targets and increase revenue while keeping expenses in check.
• Maintain a professional and organized environment in the golf shop, including merchandising and inventory control.
• Oversee the operation of the golf shop in conjunction with small café, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness and profitability.
• Uphold golf course policies, rules, and regulations evenly and across the board with all employees and all customers to ensure a consistent and respectful atmosphere.

Golf Operations Management:
• Oversee reservation system, starting, monitoring and pace of play.
• Track all player and guest fees, carts, rental and other charges.
• Facilitate accurate account and recordkeeping.
• Develop and manage tournament programming, outings and leagues.
• Provide professional club repair and club fitting services.
• Oversee the operations of a well-managed practice facility.
• Administer the rules of golf and educate shop staff in rules and etiquette.

Retail Management:
• Oversee retail merchandise concessions in step with the mission of the facility and owners.
• Establish accurate recordkeeping policies and procedures.
• Supervise and train all golf shop staff to maximize sales opportunities.
• Conduct timely and accurate inventory counts.
• Send invoices to bookkeeper for payment in a timely manner and keep accurate records of payment.

Player Development:
• Develop, provide, and oversee an enhanced golf instruction program offering individual and group lessons and clinics for all levels of players.
• Assist with training of the full facility staff in regard to player development and encourage their participation.

Golf Administration:
• Recruit, hire, train, motivate and supervise all golf department staff and maintain accurate hiring and firing records.
• Ensure evaluations and annual reviews are completed and recorded for all applicable staff.
• Oversee staff meetings and schedule staff meetings with operations personnel.
• Update and maintain golf shop policies and procedures.
• Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA requirements and fire code standards.
• Maintain a close working relationship with committees and league officers.

Business and Financial:
• Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and services.
• Ensure all financial goals and objectives are being achieved.
• Assist in the development of budgets including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses daily, weekly, monthly, and annually.
• Ensure system controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues and resources.
Other Facility/Departmental Responsibilities:
• Work closely with all departments to achieve goals and objectives of the facility.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the course Superintendent/Director and provide advice on course playability and tournament setup.
• Oversee the Café Operations ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness and profitability. Coordinate with a small café to meet customer’s food and beverage needs.

Requirements:
Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing.
Experience with supervisory practices and principles.
Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
Strong work ethic, able to set an example for all employees.
Self-motivated, with desire to promote and market Sun Hills GC.
Service and customer-focused attitude.
Experienced in written and oral business communications.
Computer experience.
Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community and have a good relationship with Utah PGA Section members.
Maintain a credible golf game and play in Section Tournaments.

Compensation:
$65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year.
