Head Golf Professional
Golf course in Hurricane, Utah is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Performs a variety of professional and technical duties related to promoting, teaching and developing golf within the community; operates and manages a golf pro shop. Represents the city by sponsoring and participating in professional tournaments and golf events. Works under the general supervision and direction of the City Manager. Provides close supervision to the assistant Golf Pro, Pro Shop Attendants, Starters, Cart Attendants and Grill Manager.

Essential Functions:
• Supervises all part-time shop attendants, starters and related personnel; insuresdequate scheduling of employees.
• Reviews performance of department employees and consults with Human Resources regarding job retention, advancement and discipline. Participates in the recruitment, selection and training of department personnel.
• Prepares and administers department budget; verifies costs incurred by the department; performs annual inventory of store and golf course supplies and equipment; submits purchase orders; order supplies and replaces old equipment.
• Assures proper maintenance of golf carts; monitors preventive maintenance program; purchases new carts and replacement parts.
• Oversee maintenance of Clubhouse building and repair items when capable. Assist in maintaining a clean and friendly golf environment for the golfing public.
• Organizes, coordinates and correlates men, women and junior programs; determines and awards handicaps; gives golf lessons; maintains charts of running league scores; establishes a variety of golf programs for the community.
• Organizes and manages special events and tournaments as needed to promote the game of golf and community recreation opportunities. Provides professional education and instruction related to golf techniques and methods.
• Participates in regional and/or golf events to promote city tourism.
• Responds to customer complaints; assures customer satisfaction answers inquiries and directs visitors’ assists customers with purchases and rentals. Collects green fees and fees for season or quarterly passes; maintains an accurate record of all transactions.
• Assists in the operation of the Grill; performs clerk and cook duties as required; insurers adequate shelf-stock and inventory.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Recreation Management or related field; AND
Successful completion of a five (5) year golf pro apprenticeship; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience related to the duties for this position.
Possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver’s License throughout employment.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening required.
Must be a member in good standing of the Professional Golfers Association or minimum of five years of golf course management experience.
All accredited certifications must be kept current. Failure to do so may result in loss of position. Alcohol server training current, for management of food and beverage department.
Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, codes and ethics governing professional golf.
Teaching and instruction related to popular golf techniques and golf etiquette.
Knowledge of course conditions essential to prime golf play and principles and practices related to course management and supervision.
Knowledge of golf terminology and scoring and handicap computation.
Ability to plan, organize and direct play and instruction on a golf course.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to teach technical golf skills to others.
Maintain effective working relationships with employees, public officials and the general public.

Compensation:
$71,978.40 – $108,139.20 per year.
