Head Golf Professional
Golf course in Covington, Louisiana is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Manages all golf activities including golf pro shop, merchandizing, lessons, activities, and member experience. The position is instrumental in organizing and implementing golf events, tournaments, teaching clinics and other golf programs designed to improve member experience and encourage membership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works closely with General Manager/Director of Golf on all golf aspects, including golf operations, and setting standards across all golf areas.
• Ensure all club rules are followed by members and staff.
• Guide Club efforts to help with member experience, and meeting fiscal goals.
• Work with golf team on opening and closing duties. Be supportive of team members and work in partnership to provide exceptional service.
• Must be able to manage cash, use Jonas software, and balance inventory and billing daily.
• Monitor the performance of assigned staff including golf shop attendants, starters, Marshalls, and outside service staff to ensure customer service standards and productivity goals are achieved. Provide coaching, and leadership in staff training.
• Ensure that the golf shop, storage areas, cart barn, and grounds are maintained per the Club’s cleanliness and appearance standards. Maintain clean, presentable, and fully stocked merchandise displays.
• Oversee the procurement of merchandise and put in place physical inventory controls. Conduct inventory at month end in accordance with inventory procedures.
• Maintain handicap records, able to work with Golf Genius, understand customer preferences.
• Recommend improvements in customer service and speed of play.
• Interact with members and guests in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Always maintain professional telephone manner.
• Ability to document all lessons and develop report for future engagement.
• Oversee the handling of customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
• Plan and conduct individual and group lesson programs and golf clinics, including the club kids summer camp.
• Organize and Implement tournaments, and extraordinary events.
• Ensure efficient operation and coordination of golf shop, cart service and other services as applicable.
• Be fully knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise. Collaborate with member merchandise committee on purchasing member-desired items. Must have the ability to teach Pro Shop staff on promoting and selling merchandise. Stay current on the latest golf equipment, merchandise, and industry trends.
• Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required reports to General Manager.
• Complete tasks asked of them by the General Manager.

Requirements:
College degree is preferred or combination of education and experience.
Certified PGA Professional is preferred.
Understands and are familiar with Golf Genius and Jonas Club software.
Experience in golf or hospitality industry is preferred, 3+ years.
Candidate should have great interpersonal skills and the desire to provide exceptional customer service.
Can anticipate customer needs and meet the challenge of varying member requests. Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Can work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays. Ability to work both inside and outside, and during inclement weather.
Ability to work around and understand the chemicals and herbicides that are used to maintain a golf course.
Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Compensation:
$44,000 – $48,000 per year, based on experience.
