Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Covington, Louisiana is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assists head Golf Professional with day-to-day operations of the Golf Pro Shop, member experience, tournaments, clinics, etc.

Duties:
• Works with the golf team on opening and closing duties. Be supportive of team members and work in partnership to provide exceptional service.
• Ensure all club rules and policies are followed by members and staff.
• Must be able to handle cash, use/learn Jonas club software, balance inventory, and billing daily.
• Ensure customer service standards and productivity goals are achieved.
• Ensure that the golf shop, storage areas, cart barn, and grounds are maintained per the Club’s cleanliness and appearance standards. Maintain clean, presentable, and fully stocked merchandise displays.
• Assist with physical inventory at month-end in accordance with inventory procedures.
• Help maintain handicap records, able to work with Golf Genius, and understand customer preferences.
• Recommend improvements in customer service.
• Interact with members and guests in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Always maintain a professional telephone manner.
• Handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
• Help with the planning and execution of individual and group lesson programs and golf clinics, including the kids’ summer camp.
• Assist with organizing and implementing tournaments and special events. Ensure efficient operation and coordination of the golf shop, cart service and other services as applicable.
• Be fully knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise. Work with the member merchandise committee on purchasing member-desired items. Must have the ability to sell the merchandise.
• Support the efficiency and timely submission of all required reports.
• Complete tasks requested by the Head Golf Professional and the General Manager.

Requirements:
College degree preferred or a combination of education and experience.
PGA apprentice or better preferred.
Understands and is familiar with Golf Genius and Jonas Club software.
Experience in golf or hospitality industry is preferred.
Candidate should have great interpersonal skills and the desire to provide exceptional customer service.
Can anticipate customer needs and meet the challenge of varying member requests.
Can work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work both inside and outside, and during inclement weather.
Ability to work around and understand the chemicals and herbicides that are used to maintain a golf course.
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

Compensation:
$38,000 – $42,000 per year, based on experience.
