Head Golf Professional
Golf course in Los Osos, California is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Duties:
• Hire and manage a staff that meets the demand of the golf course. Train and motivate the staff as well as stay within the Resort policies and labor laws that apply. Hold periodic staff meetings and keep regular communications with staff regarding Resort functions and operations.
• Merchandising of the Resort Golf Shop:
• Yearly buying plan to properly allocate dollars and inventory levels.
• Proper display of merchandise. o Training staff to display and sell merchandise.
• Follow the Resort Policies that pertain to purchase orders and invoice processing.
• Promote golf tournaments and golf activities on the golf course. Involvement with the group sales department to solicit hotel business with golf activities.
• Manage a quality tournament schedule so that our groups have a well-organized event as well as ensure that our non-tournament guests have a great experience on the golf course.
• Promote and manage all JR. Golf activities. Coordinate with local SLO JR GOLF and PGA Junior League to develop robust Jr. Golf Activities for the property.
• Protect the integrity of the rental equipment “assets” to include:
• Proper maintenance and rental agreements for the following: golf cart fleet, rental club fleet and pull cart fleet
• Ensure proper rotation of these fleets so aging of all units will be consistent.
• Uphold the policies in place (for rental equipment) to protect the resort, equipment and our customers.
• Keep the grounds in and around the golf shop area neat and clean.
• Uphold the resort policies and procedures that apply to staff and profit centers.
• Promptly and correctly process merchandise invoices. Work closely with accounting so that all accounting functions regarding the golf shop profit center are accurate and timely.
• Promote the resort group business functions. Includes trade shows, road visits to outlying areas and some telemarketing.
• Representing the resort as a “Good Will Ambassador” both at the resort, as well as, away from the property.
• Work closely with other department managers so that the goals and objectives of The Resort are met.
• Communicate with the General Manager on all issues so that consistency, harmony and success will flourish.

Requirements:
A true passion for the game of golf and the community it creates.
PGA member or PGA associate strongly preferred; be in good standing with the PGA of America preferably, as this standing will expedite their ability to earn teaching or clinic income.
Two or more years of assistant golf professional experience at a service-oriented golf club strongly preferred.
Strong member service background or equivalent retail service experience.

Beneficial experience:
Fore-Up POS software management.
Microsoft Outlook.
Teaching of all levels of golfers (adults and juniors).
Merchandise knowledge of ordering and displaying product.
Coordinating a strong junior golf program (PGA Jr. League).
PGA Coach certified.

Compensation:
$60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year.
