1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Santa Fe, New Mexico is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Key responsibilities:
• Assist general manager and head golf professional on a daily basis.
• Manage golf operation in the absence of the general manager and head golf professional.
• Interview and hire new staff members in the outside service department. Discipline and counsel staff when necessary and terminate employees when appropriate.
• Coordinate with tournament chairperson on daily events including setup, rentals, cart signage, KP’s, long drive contests, etc.
• Work with retail staff to ensure professionalism and proper communication at all times. Support with member and customer complaints. Assist with rate changes.
• Ensure cleanliness of golf cart staging area, golf carts, bag room, cart barn, and valet areas. Ensure all areas have proper signage.
• Assist in overseeing outside service operating budget. Purchase all necessary supplies within budget.
• Maximize tee sheet utilization and coordinate pace of play with player assistants.
• Provide excellent service to guests and members.
• Assist with member events and attend various member functions.
• Advise on rules and regulations to members, guests, and employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Ability to teach individual golf lessons to members.
Must complete a player ability test, pass an oral examination given by peers and continue to improve skills by attending seminars and workshops.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to play golf and know the game.
Knowledge of golf clubs and golf equipment.
Must be able to problem solve when dealing with people and be a team player.
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Required education and experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of golf shop experience.
Must have a tournament operations background.

Compensation:
$20.00 per hour.
