Assistant Golf Coach
School in Kennebunk, Maine is looking for an Assistant Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
You will deliver measurable results in developing, enhancing and promoting an athletic program that will be distinguished by the teams’ display of integrity, citizenship, character, work ethic, and their ability to overcome adversity. To instruct students in appropriate methods to be respectful of themselves, their opponents, and officials regardless of the outcome of their event.

Responsibilities:
• Supervises the student-athletes in their program.
• Prepares and plans effectively to ensure students are ready for competition.
• Manages off-season programs to help players enhance their abilities.
• Serves as a role model for students.
• Assists the head coach with instructing players in rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.
• Assesses players’ skills, monitors athletes during competition and practice, and updates the head coach on performance.
• Assists with determining game strategy.
• Supervises athletes during practices and competition under head coach direction.
• Follows procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach.
• Helps submit a list of award winners at the end of the season.
• Participates in special activities including parents’ night, banquets, and award events.
• Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and related records.
• Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Leadership:
• Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athletic department.
• Coordinates with the trainer and Director of Athletics to ensure medical assistance and emergency plans are ready.
• Administers district athletic codes.
• Keeps orderly records of equipment and uniforms issued; assists with collection.
• Performs other related duties as determined by the principal, athletic director, or head coach.

Requirements:
Love what you do, bringing your experience as a player or as a coach to the students.
Must have knowledge and expertise in the strategies, methods and techniques for a successful sport offering.
Should have the ability to manage all aspects of a sport program and earned or will earn credentials of Maine Coaches; employment in the Kennebunk School Department preferred.
