Head Golf Coach
School in Kennebunk, Maine is looking for a Head Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
Deliver measurable results in developing, enhancing and promoting an athletic program that will be distinguished by the teams’ display of integrity, citizenship, character, work ethic, and their ability to overcome adversity. To instruct students in appropriate methods to be respectful of themselves, their opponents, and officials regardless of the outcome of their event.

Responsibilities:
• Supervises the student athletes in their program.
• Ensures students are appropriately prepared for competition through proper planning.
• Manages off-season programs to help players enhance their abilities.
• Serves as a role model for students.
• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages participation.
• Assesses players’ skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Coordinates with the athletics director to schedule practice and competition facilities.
• Assigns duties to assistant coaches as needed.
• Coaches and instructs players individually or in groups on sport rules, equipment, and techniques.
• Observes players during competition and practice to identify improvement areas.
• Determines game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior and ensures athlete supervision.
• Monitors academic performance to confirm eligibility.
• Follows procedures in the event of athlete injuries.
• Communicates with parents or guardians regarding student-athlete performance.
• Adheres to state, regional, and district athletic program regulations.
• Models sports-like behavior and appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Promotes the sport as a team representative with media, booster clubs, and community organizations.
• Follows protocols for equipment, supply, and uniform care and requisition.
• Collaborates with the athletics director on award policies and submits award recipient lists.
• Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data, insurance records, inventory, and other records.
• Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.

Leadership:
• Assists in evaluating and hiring coaching staff.
• Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athletics department.
• Works with trainers and the Director of Athletics to plan for emergency medical support.
• Administers the district athletic codes.
• Maintains accurate uniform and equipment records and facilitates proper returns.
• Prepares reports for the Director of Athletics, as needed.
• Supervises assistant coaches, including decisions on player performance and team membership.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the principal or Director of Athletics.

Requirements:
Love what you do, bringing your experience as a player or as a coach to the students at RSU 21.
Must have knowledge and expertise in the strategies, methods and techniques for a successful sport offering.
Should have the ability to manage all aspects of a sport program and earned or will earn credentials of Maine Coaches; employment in the Kennebunk School Department preferred.
