2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Richmond Hill, Georgia is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Participates in the supervision of the golf course maintenance (GCM) crew and does other related work as required. May serve as the direct supervisor in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent or the 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for 20-25 full time employees in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.
2. Regularly supervises teams of 5-8 employees on a daily basis.
3. Must know proper maintenance procedures and basic agronomic practices for greens, fairways, tees, lakes, roughs, bunkers, and all other appropriate areas.
4. Assists in daily scheduling of the work crew.
5. Assists in the hiring and training of new employees to the golf course maintenance team.
6. Responsible for the proper application of pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment.
7. Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of irrigation pumps and irrigation and drainage systems.
8. Oversees completion of various work assignments and assists in field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards and machinery use.
9. Enforces safe working methods. Reports disciplinary problems to the GCS and/or 1st Assistant GCS.
10. Keeps current with new ideas, equipment, fertilizers, chemicals, etc., through publications, seminars and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:
High school diploma required.
AA or BA in turf management preferred.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a high degree of interaction with employees, management and members.
1 to 2 years of experience.

Compensation:
$50,000 – $60,000 per year.
