Summer Golf Course Intern
Golf Course in Indianapolis, Indiana is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.

Position Overview:
Play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of excellence for our golf course. You will support the Superintendent and 1st Assistant Superintendent in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a pristine playing surface for the members and guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in all aspects of golf course maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and execution of tasks.
• Supervise and train the maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Actively participate in daily maintenance activities, such as mowing, fertilizing, watering, and other essential tasks.
• Assist in operating and repairing the irrigation system, monitoring water usage, and troubleshooting issues.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals safely and responsibly
• Diagnose and address turfgrass health issues, implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Promote a safe working environment by conducting regular safety checks and enforcing regulations.
• Contribute to course improvement projects, including renovations, aeration, and other maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and other relevant data.
• Offer support and assistance to the Golf Course Mechanic.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
2 or 4 year college degree or equivalent preferred but not required
Basic knowledge of turfgrass management practices, equipment operation, and irrigation systems
Previous experience in golf course landscaping and maintenance, with experience at a high-end public or private golf course preferred
Knowledge of golf rules, regulations, and policies
Ability to obtain a Indiana Pesticide Applicators license within 6 months of hiring
Golf and heavy equipment operating experience

Compensation:
$40,000 – $45,000 per year.
