Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Fairfield, California is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Collaborates with the Director of Agronomy in overseeing the daily management and maintenance of the golf course. This position is vital in ensuring the course is maintained to the highest standards for members and guests. The position plays a key role in supervising staff, managing turf health, and executing agronomic strategies to enhance course quality. Additionally, the Superintendent in Training will lead the curation and implementation of technological upgrades within the agronomic program, driving improvements in efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Daily Course Operations: Assist in overseeing the daily maintenance operations of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Staff Leadership: Help manage, train, and supervise the grounds crew, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Irrigation Management: Monitor irrigation systems and assist in scheduling adjustments to maintain turf health and conserve water.
• Turf Care: Assist with turf maintenance, including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and application of plant protectants in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Course Setup: Assist in preparing the course for daily play, tournaments, and special events, ensuring optimal playing conditions.
• Equipment Maintenance: Help monitor the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring proper use and care by staff.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and other club departments to ensure smooth operations and communication across teams.
• Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining records of maintenance activities, applications of chemicals, and irrigation schedules.
• Budgeting and Inventory: Help monitor maintenance supplies and assist in maintaining budgetary control.
• Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe work environment for the grounds crew.

Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field (preferred).
3+ years of experience in golf course maintenance, with a background in supervisory roles.
Knowledge of irrigation systems, turfgrass health, and sustainable practices. (Toro)
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to operate and train staff on a wide range of turf maintenance equipment.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality course conditions.
Ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings as needed.

Compensation:
$70,000 – $90,000 per year.
