Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Palm Desert, California is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assist the Director of Golf in the management and supervision of Woodhaven’s entire golf operation and programs.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director of Golf with the day-to-day operations.
• Conduct yourself as a “Team Player” with the rest of your fellow co-workers.
• Foster and promote a positive attitude of self, co-workers, and club, both on and off property.
• Meet weekly with Director of Golf to review upcoming events, and perform scheduling to insure all areas are covered relating to operations.
• Perform the opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with any handicap duties for both men and women.
• Teach and conduct golf lessons and clinics to members.
• Play golf with members and work on game.
• Special order merchandise for members and guests.
• Help keep the golf shop clean at all times.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in discussions.
• Continue with the PGA PGM Program, and be able to complete the necessary check points when required.
• Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Director of Golf.
• Provide excellent customer services, professional advice and assistance to all patrons.
• Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter.
• Manage the total operation of the practice facility.
• Supervises, schedule and train golf shop personnel as directed by the Director of Golf.
• Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory control, promotion and sales of merchandise.
• Manage the club repair business.
• Conducts oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
• Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services.
• Manage the handicap program.
• Assist in all member tournaments and functions.

Requirements:
Golf Club experience as an Assistant Professional.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
PGA member a plus.
Ability to use modern office equipment and software programs as applicable to the position.
Maintain a professional attitude, and effectively work with vendors, homeowners, outside customers and all levels of staff.
Communicate effectively with others in English both verbally and in writing.
May be required occasionally to attend functions and work a flexible schedule that will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Valid CA driver’s license.

Compensation:
$18.00 – $22.00 per hour.
