Assistant Golf Professional
Country Club in Apopka, Florida is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
A progressive and innovative Professional Golf Shop Assistant with leadership qualities to attract and lead a motivated Professional Golf Shop Staff. He or she should take special pride in delivering exceptional playing conditions with a goal of exceeding our members’ and guests’ expectations by providing an extraordinary Golf experience in a challenging environment. They will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the entire Golf Shop team with a primary concentration on Golf Membership and Guest satisfaction, planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all facets of the Golf department, including, but not limited to, staffing, training, safety protocol, working relationships across departments, interaction with club members, and financial controls for the department.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist with the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all facility revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis of the golf operation.
• Create programs and events to attract and retain members.
• Assures operational compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Monitors the performance of all daily operations, functions and services; assures high standards and total customer satisfaction.
• Ensures the highest standards for golf services and programs, golf course and practice areas.
• Communicates to controlling entity on a structured and timely basis.
• Foster open communication within the facility.
• Maintains all customer safety and emergency policies and procedures
Golf Operations.
• Track and verify all players and guests, golf carts, club care, lockers, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting and record keeping.
• Oversee golf cart fleet while ensuring proper maintenance and record keeping.
• Develop and manage an innovative and engaging tournament program that services all customer segments.
• Administer the Rules of Golf and educate staff. Promote and provide Rules of Golf clinics to the membership.
• Oversee retail merchandise concession in step with the mission of the golf operation and facility, while maintaining profitability.
• Develop and oversee player development and instructional programs.
• Oversee the administration of the golf handicap program.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament setup.
• Play golf with a variety of members and/or guests as time permits.
• Coordinate plans with the Food and Beverage Manager for food and beverage needs for all golf functions.

Requirements:
PGA Class A member in good standing or complete program to obtain.
3 years Golf Shop experience preferred.
Demonstrated record of developing, promoting and expanding all club activities.
Established record of providing superior member service and staff training and development.

Compensation:
$40,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year.
