Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Roland, Arkansas is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
The primary role is to support the Superintendent in overseeing daily golf course maintenance operations. Initial Priorities of Position:
• Support daily operations and provide strong team leadership.
• Maintain high-quality turf and optimal playing conditions.
• Assist in ongoing staff development and foster a positive team culture.
• Begin preparations and planning for upcoming irrigation system renovations.

Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude:
• Assist in managing all aspects of course maintenance.
• Lead and train crew members, ensuring effective and safe practices.
• Monitor turf health and maintenance scheduling.
• Contribute to record-keeping, budget tracking, and planning.
• Collaborate with the superintendent to execute long-term agronomic goals.

Essential Functions:
• In conjunction with the superintendent, directs and oversees staff in daily activities, monitoring quality and ensuring procedures are followed.
• Serves as liaison between staff and management.
• Supervises training programs and ensures proper documentation.
• Manages the IPM program, including pesticide/fertilizer applications and record keeping.
• Assists with interviews and evaluations.
• Coordinates specialty equipment use and development.
• Oversees pump stations and infrastructure.
• Administers onboarding and safety programs.
• Maintains greens data (e.g., speed, firmness).

Additional Responsibilities:
• Assists with irrigation system maintenance.
• Supports grounds crew as needed.
• Attends professional development events.
• Recommends procedural improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
Certificate in turfgrass management (required).
1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience.
Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain pesticide license.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of irrigation systems, turf practices, and equipment use.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Compensation:
$56,000 per year.
