Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Fort Wayne, Indiana is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Working under the direction of the Superintendent, incumbent helps maintain the golf facilities and equipment and supervises golf maintenance staff. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations. All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with the city safety rules and operating regulations, policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

Preventative Maintenance:
• Applies fertilizers and grass seed as needed;
• Sprays and applies chemicals as needed;
• Assists with maintenance of irrigation system;
• Maintains, repairs and prepares equipment for usage;
• Grinds mower reels;

Management/Operations:
• Oversees and assists in the mowing and maintenance of golf course fairways, rough, greens, tee areas and other areas;
• Removes or has removed any grounds debris;
• Assures that tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in proper working condition;
• Operates equipment as needed;
• Meets with Superintendent on a regular basis;
• Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from Superintendent;
• In the superintendent’s absences, supervises maintenance staff and assigns daily duties;
• Assist with the annual chemical and fertilizer bid;
• Assist in the overall decision-making pertaining to the golf course maintenance operations;
• Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring seasonal staff;
• Wears respiratory devices.

Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:
$55,349.98 – $58,000.00 per year.
