Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
The position will alternate weekends with our Assistant Superintendent. Hours will range from 45-65 hours during the growing season and depending on if you are scheduled to work the weekend. Assistant Superintendents are encouraged to take time off during the summer months to maintain a work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the planning and supervision of all golf course maintenance activities, including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Supervise and train a crew of groundskeepers, ensuring adherence to proper maintenance standards and safety procedures.
• Oversee the daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers
• Maintain and use irrigation systems as needed
• Assist with inventory and application of pesticides and fertilizers
• Work closely with the superintendent and other team members to achieve goals for turf management, aesthetics, and playability.

Requirements:
A 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field preferred.
At least 2-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Ability to identify and manage turf diseases, pests, and other issues.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Driver’s license and PA Pesticide Applicator’s License or the ability to obtain one within six months.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks.

Compensation:
$70,000 – $80,000 per year.
