Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Boynton Beach, Florida is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Responsible for assisting the Golf Course Superintendent in managing, directing, and leading golf course and grounds operations.

Responsibilities include:
• Scheduling and leading the team by delegating assignments, providing guidance, training, coaching, and assistance to ensure work is completed as expected and on time.
• Ensuring the golf course is maintained and in proper playing condition.
• Supervising, leading, and assisting in the daily set-up and maintenance of the golf course
• Supervising, leading, and assisting in all planting, fertilizing, and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees, and other facilities on the golf course.
• Ensuring all crew are appropriately trained on the operation, maintenance, care, and storage of equipment, and issues are reported promptly and appropriately to the Equipment Manager.
• Observing daily playing conditions, including mowing quality, green speeds, bunker conditions, course setup, and soil moisture.
• Inspecting and maintaining course drainage, irrigation, and watering systems.
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive safety program that complies with local, state, and federal laws and ensures standards are practiced.
• Communicating, as necessary, with other department personnel to discuss conditions of the facilities, maintenance plans, and scheduled events.
• Ensuring that chemicals, petroleum, and other controlled products are used, stored, recorded, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, and that these products are efficiently utilized.
• Attending employee and management meetings, turf conferences, workshops, and other educational programs to maintain current knowledge of technical and turf innovations and changes that may affect the department’s operations.
• Performing golf course maintenance tasks, including those assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or the Director of Golf Course Maintenance, and other tasks as directed.

Requirements:
Associate degree or certificate in Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience in golf course maintenance with a progressive career track.
Excellent oral and written communication, as well as team-building skills.
Florida Pesticide license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment,
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to understand, interpret, and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work a schedule that will include some weekends and holidays.

Compensation:
$70,000 – $85,000 per year.
