2nd Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Newport News, Virginia is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Plays a vital supporting role in the daily golf operations. Reporting to the Director of Golf and the 1st Assistant, this individual contributes to exceptional member service, assists with tournament execution, supports instructional programming, and helps maintain a high-functioning golf operation. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated professional pursuing PGA membership and seeking to grow in the golf industry. This role is designed as a development position for entry-level professionals seeking future advancement.

Daily Golf Operations:
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily management of the golf shop.

Technology & Communication:
• Utilize Golf Genius, JONAS, GHIN, VISAGE, and other club software to support operations.
• Assist with administrative duties, email communication, and tournament promotions.

Facility & Course Support:
• Monitor the condition of practice areas and coordinate with maintenance staff when needed.
• Ensure golf car fleet and staging area are maintained to club standards.
• Provide support in tee time reservations, pace of play oversight, and enforcing club policies.
• Assist with inventory management, special orders, and visual merchandising.

Tournament & Event Support:
• Aid in the setup, execution, and breakdown of tournaments and member events.
• Prepare scorecards, pairings, cart signs, and scoring materials.
• Operate Golf Genius for event scoring and communications.

Customer Service:
• Serve as a front-line ambassador for members and guests, delivering outstanding customer experiences.
• Address member questions, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
• Provide private and group lessons under the supervision of the Director.
