Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-in-Training
Golf Course in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-in-Training.

Position Overview:
Whether it may be project-related, an agronomic process, or preparing for a Member-Guest tournament, the position will work closely with the Director of Agronomy, Superintendent, and other management team members to develop short and long-term goals and plans to be completed within the operation. Primary responsibilities will include course set-up, precise application of plant protectants and fertilizers, moisture management, equipment operation, and small crew leadership. Problem-solving and providing solutions to challenges that the team faces will also be a responsibility.

Requirements:
High school diploma.
Aspires to pursue a certificate or degree in turfgrass maintenance or agronomy.
1-3 years of progressive experience in the turfgrass maintenance industry.
Self-motivated, positive attitude, willing to exceed member expectations, work every other weekend from April to November and some holidays. The average work week will range from 40-60 hours.
Obtain and maintain a PA Applicator’s License within 90 days of hire and undergo a criminal background check.

Compensation:
$19 – $21 per hour.
Housing inclusive of utilities, PTO, health insurance, 401K, meals, golf, clothing allowance, safety toe boots, Union League University, local continuing education seminars, national and local GCSAA dues, year-end bonus, USGA and or PGA tournament week experience, opportunity for advancement within The Union League of Philadelphia.
