1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Brewster, Massachusetts is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
This individual will serve as an extension of the Head Golf Professional and will represent a position of management and supervision. This position will have a large and diverse grouping of responsibilities that will rely on their current professional skillset but will also aid in the development and growth of new skills. The individual in this position will be expected to present themselves in a light that matches that of the Head Golf Professional and to adopt/learn similar managerial skills. This position will be heavily involved with the tournament operation, the merchandising business, group instruction, training/supervision, and playing with members. Furthermore, it is expected that the individual in this position will possess the appropriate skill set to represent the operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. The position will be deemed year-round, but will be flexible in order to fit the needs of the right candidate.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for management tasks such as scheduling, supervision/training of other staff members, organizing/preparing the club’s major events, and fulfilling the Head Professional’s responsibilities in his absence.
• Provides a welcoming, responsive, and service-oriented environment for members and their guests throughout all interactions.
• Along with golf staff, conducts pro shop retail operations; sells, displays, promotes, and merchandises inventory. Assists with scheduling and promoting demo days. Ships product and manages special orders. Possesses a thorough understanding of the point of sale system and helps maintain it under the direction of the Head Golf Professional.
• Professionally, respectfully, and tactfully interprets, informs, and enforces club policies with members, guests, and staff.
• Leads coordination of all golfing events and weekly men’s games, Ladies’ Days, and Nine & Dines.
• Conducts or assists with junior camps, golf clinics, and schools.
• Performs daily opening and/or closing procedures as designated. Compiles and reviews daily work for completeness and accuracy. Accurately completes POS end of day processing.
• Assists with inventory management; conducts monthly inventories, prepares orders and returns.
• Accurately records, reviews, and approves vendor invoices and credit memos. Minimizes shrink by following inventory control procedures.
• Along with golf staff, responsible for the correct appearance, organization, and cleanliness of the shop and stock room areas, equipment and fixtures. Reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
• Assists with training and supervising of starters, caddie master, bag room and outside golf staff and pro shop staff.
• Monitors and regulates pace of play as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
• Performs other duties designated by the Head Golf Professional.

Preferred:
PGA Class A Member.
3 years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional.
Golf Genius experience.
Proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office Applications.
Polished and professional demeanor in manner and appearance.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Leadership qualities.
Reputation for quality and attention to detail.
