Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting in the management of all non-maintenance golfing activities at a municipal golf course; performs related duties as required.

Examples of Work:
• Assists in the management of the daily operations of a municipal golf course;
• Supervises seasonal volunteers, golf rangers, and golf starters; schedules and assigns work activities, conducts performance evaluations, and oversees the work of subordinate personnel;
• Collects greens fees, riding cart rentals, and other fees; assists in maintaining daily cash accounts and making daily bank deposits;
• Assists in the planning, coordination, and supervision of various golf leagues and tournaments; computes and records handicaps for players;
• Interprets rules of the golf course for players, such as penalty to be taken on out-of-bounds shots, order of play, and methods to be used for reporting scores;
• Accepts reservations for starting times; settles disputes over starting times;
• Ensures that players complete a round of golf in reasonable time;
• Ensures that the public areas are clean;
• Assists in conducting golf clinics;
• Maintains a variety of electronic records and prepares reports on a computer;
• May determine to close the golf course during inclement weather in the absence of supervisory personnel;
• May assist a contractor in the daily operation of the pro shop as needed.

Requirements:
Possession of valid membership as an Associate for the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and proof of Level 2 or higher, including passage of the Player Ability Test (PAT);
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
OR
Possession of valid membership at the Apprentice or Class B level for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Whether entering this classification through the PGA or LPGA membership route, the Player Ability Test (PAT) must be passed in addition to completing the first level requirements in pursuit of the Class A level of membership.

Compensation:
$20.75 – $31.17 per hour.
