Head Golf Professional
Golf Course in Woodbury, Minnesota is looking for a Head Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Oversees daily administrative tasks and seasonal staffing and assists with the Eagle Valley Golf Course banquet and food service operations. Their role includes ensuring exceptional customer experiences, cultivating a customer-focused team, managing golf programs, and running a successful merchandise operation. Serving as the assistant manager, they also handle website, social media, and email marketing content. In the absence of the Recreation Enterprise Manager, the Golf Professional assumes full responsibility for all golf operations.

Recruit and develop golf operation’s service staff through comprehensive training, mentoring and supervision. Supervise, plan, direct and organize the duties and performance of clubhouse employees.
Responsible for the development and administration of golf operational programs, including:
• Establish and implement effective customer service systems.
• Develop and maintain daily reservation system and regulations ensuring integrity of Eagle Club program.
• Evaluate, program and administer efficient point of sale and reservation system to insure a user-friendly environment for customers and staff.
• Establish and administer men’s, women’s and junior programs to the extent they are consistent with the established goals of the facility.
• Establish and implement extensive and diversified golf instructional programs in partnership with The First Tee of Minnesota, aimed at stimulating awareness, enjoyment and use of the golf course and practice facilities.
• From golf operation’s perspective, coordinate facility logistics for special events, banquet room utilization and golf tournaments.
• Create and administer effective customer check-in and pace-of-play monitoring systems to ensure an organized and pleasant environment.

Coordinate with both the maintenance departments and food/beverage regarding play levels and large outings to ensure high service levels are maintained.
Administer golf course marketing and promotional program, including:
• Develop promotional and informational literature on golf opportunities in coordination with Recreation Enterprise Manager and communication’s staff.
• Establish and maintain an informative and up to date website designed to offer a cost effective and quick resource for existing and potential customers.
• Work closely with allied associations of golf and others that might contribute to the facility’s function.
• Work with the communication’s division and coordinate with social media partner to manage all social media outlets.

Responsible for developing and managing themerchandising budget. Assist with developing golf operations annual budget including revenue and expense structure. Ensure total operational expenditures stay within budget parameters.
Manage merchandise program.

Duties:
• Detailed buying plans aimed at providing quality golf merchandise and good value.
• Establish inventory procedures and reporting functions.
• Develop marketing, displays and pricing structures.
• Comply with city policy regarding purchasing.
• Develop and diplomatically enforce all golf course policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain cash control practices and systems to ensure integrity and security of daily deposits. Coordinate the handling of cash receipts related to the golf operation and practice center.
• Provide statistical data on golf operations and recommend strategies for maximizing facility utilization.
• Collaborate with Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to supervise the golf car operation including car maintenance, car rotation, record keeping and car cleaning.
• Fosters an inclusive work culture and advances the City’s diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
• Maintain and foster an environment, which facilitates the Exceeding Expectations (professional, responsive, leaders) philosophy of the city.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to serve “on call” duty assignments.

Requirements:
Two (2) years of college or formal training in golf operations.
Three (3) years full or part-time experience in the golf industry.
Apprentice Golf Professional in the PGA of America.

Preferred:
Four (4) years of college or formal training.
Five (5) years of full-time experience in golf operations management, including supervision of personnel, financial controls, golf merchandising, handicaps, and league/event management.
Golf Professional in the PGA of America.
Working knowledge regarding all aspects of the golf course industry.

Compensation:
$75,823.26 – $109,943.73 per year.
