1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Bluffton, South Carolina is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Crossroads Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent’s supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the management of the golf course greens, tees, fairways, natural areas, daily set up, staff, culture, etc. The Assistant Superintendent helps plan and prioritize work schedules, maintains accurate records, trains, coaches staff, and communicates well within the golf management department, members, and club.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy/plant/soil sciences desired, or equivalent knowledge, which may include an associate degree in Turfgrass Science offered by some universities prefered
• Requires current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days
• Familiarity with and knowledge of the game of golf
• Working knowledge of:
a. Construction, turf establishment, and cultural practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
b. Planting and culture of turfgrass used on golf courses.
c. Proper use of fertilizers and soil conditioners
d. Pest diagnosis and control methods, including materials.
e. Drainage systems
f. Watering practices and irrigation systems
g. Equipment operation, service, and repair
h. Computer applications and operation
i. Ability to schedule and supervise work to achieve the most efficient use of employees and resources.
j. Effectively communicate with all staff, members, vendors, architects, owners, consultants, and fellow professionals

Compensation
$60,000 – $70,000 per year.
