Summer Golf Course Intern
Golf course in Highland Park, Illinois is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.

Position Overview: The important thing to remember is that you will someday be responsible for teaching new staff members how to do these things, so it’s probably a good idea to be able to do these things in your sleep. The second important thing – it’s part of the job that needs to get done and no one is above anything. During your Internship, you can count on being involved in, and advancing your tactical skillset in the following ways:
• Hand watering, emphasizing in greens moisture management.
• Introduction to golf course building methods including variable-depth green construction.
• Exposure to high-level turfgrass maintenance and the relationship between playability and aesthetics.
• Cultural practices and insight into ISTRC testing.
• Drainage installation.
• Irrigation repair, troubleshooting, and programming.
• Tank mixing and pesticide applications.
• Fertilizer applications and necessary calibration procedures.
• Budget workshops and early order strategies.
• Resume workshop.
• Tour nearby agronomic operations.
• Volunteer offsite tournament.
• Post internship bonus, based on performance.

Requirements:
Associate, Certificate, two- or four-year degree in related field.
Preferred 1+ years experience on golf course or sports field team.
Reliability and a desire to learn is all we require.

Compensation:
$20 per hour.
