Head Golf Coach
School in Maynard, Massachusetts is looking for a Head Golf Coach.

Position Overview:
Direct and oversee a specific athletic program within the school. They will help each participating student-athlete achieve a higher level of skills, an appreciation for the values of discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship and an increased level of self esteem while following the Mission, Vision, Philosophy, and Core Values of the Department and School District.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the current team and develop strategies based on these findings.
• Evaluate team members to determine fitness levels and potential; assign positions or roles to athletes based on strengths and weaknesses.
• Set team and individual goals; direct and motivate staff and players to achieve them.
• Prepare game plans in collaboration with other coaches for each competition.
• Research competitor performance records and strategies, and develop appropriate counter-strategies.
• Provide instruction before, during, and after events to improve performance and secure wins.
• Schedule, organize, and lead practice sessions and coordinate routines.
• Develop physical conditioning programs tailored to optimize athlete potential.
• Ensure safe and proper use of equipment.
• Attend all team events and ensure appropriate conduct by coaches and players.
• Actively participate in all faculty and coaching meetings.
• Maintain documentation on player performance, academic standing, and eligibility.
• Ensure accurate completion and filing of all medical, consent, insurance, and eligibility forms.
• Stay up to date on rules, coaching philosophies, techniques, and sport-specific technologies.
• Assign and promote assistant coaches with the Athletic Director based on performance and experience.
• Coordinate assistant coach responsibilities and guidance.
• Oversee support staff such as trainers and therapists.
• Support the Athletic Director in delivering timely and constructive performance evaluations.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Athletic Director.

Requirements:
Three to five years of experience as an athletic coach is preferred.
Knowledge of the sport and its rules and regulations.
Applicable certifications and/or licensure required.
Employment with District and valid teacher’s certification preferred.
Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Athletic Director may find appropriate or acceptable.
Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of the applicable team sport.
Thorough understanding of the rules and regulations associated with student-athletes and coaches in the sport.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills.
Ability to appropriately communicate with athletes and coaches.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Some computer skills (email, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite).
