2nd Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Gibson Island, Maryland is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
• Keep Golf Pro Shop counter and club repair area neat, clean and organized at all times.
• Maintain complete knowledge of the handicapping system and all pertinent handicap information.
• Stays up-date with all upcoming club events.
• Maintain playing ability and work to stay competent in all areas of the game.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment, with emphasis on promoting
employee health and safety.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
• The position will assist with the management of daily golf operations including managing and
tracking play, protecting, and controlling assets, assisting with all merchandising functions,
managing tournaments, teaching lessons, and providing other professional services to ensure an
exceptional golf experience.
• Assists in outdoor golf operations when needed.
• Maintains Golf Pro Shop inventory control system.
• Assists members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations and USGARules of Golf.
• Significant focus on Junior Golf and 9-Hole Women’s Golf.
• Supports USGA GHIN handicap system.
• Documents and keep accurate records of all in-house and outside club repair work.
• Assumes Lead Assistant Golf Professional’s duties in their absence.
• Manages the daily opening and closing of golf operations.
• Ensures all tournament winners are properly entered into the credit book with correct dates and description of event.
• Updates numerous golf operations’ software such as GolfGenius and Club website.
• Makes copies of tournament results and enters into the correct files for staff training and
development.
• Coordinates junior golf activities, women’s golf, and men’s golf programs as directed.
• Provides golf instruction and fittings.
• Performs starter or player assistance duties as needed.
• Assists with marking the golf course.
• Play the game of golf with members.
• Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional.

Requirements:
Associate degree preferred with related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge to teach golf.
PGA Member or Associate preferred towards completion of PGA membership.
Must have a strong desire to advance in the golf industry.
Must be visible, easily approachable, and pro-active in nature.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and show the ability to operate a golf cart properly.
Maryland Live Scan and Child Protective Services background check required.
Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures.
Fully knowledgeable of all opening and closeout procedures of the Golf Shop.
Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up and billing charges.

Compensation:
$20.00 – $30.00 per hour.
