Position Overview:
Responsibilities of the Golf Shop Manager / Head Golf Professional include promoting and supervising the operations of the golf shop, merchandise department, and all golf-related activities. This position involves managing personnel, overseeing inventory, course promotion, providing customer service, and handling financial matters, with the goal of delivering an exceptional shopping and golfing experience for members and guests. The ideal applicant will have a comprehensive understanding of golf equipment, industry trends, and retail management and will be skilled in maintaining the shop’s efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of golf operations; manage the day-to-day personnel function; manage daily operations of the golf shop, ensuring smooth service and efficient processes.
• Manage shop staff by hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
• Ensure proper check-in, billing, and adherence to club rules for all members and guests.
• Promote daily golf shop sales, special events, and provide superior customer service.
• Assist customers with merchandise selection, work at the sales counter as needed, and handle special orders for members.
• Inventory Management – Monitor receiving, checking-in of merchandise, and process paperwork for invoicing and special orders. Coordinate inventory checks, maintain SKU controls, and submit timely billing to the accounting department.
• Provide competent golf instruction; provide age- and skill appropriate golf lessons to members and their guests; design and conduct golf clinics for all skill levels.
