Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Sylacauga, Alabama is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Assist the Director of Agronomy in the management of all golf course maintenance responsibilities through a combination of training and hands-on experience. Strive to model the Pursell Farms core values in the completion of their work. This position is considered a great position for a current assistant superintendent who is looking to make that step and become a golf course superintendent.

Essential Job Function:
• Plans perform and assist with all chemical and fertilizer applications made on property along with calibration of all equipment used.
• Oversee the daily setup of golf course, and schedule accordingly around daily resort events.
• Oversee manage and setup irrigation systems.
• Manage a diversified crew of 20-25 individuals to carry out task assigned to achieve goals set forth by ownership and Director of Agronomy.
• Oversee and manage any assigned special projects.
• Train employees to perform specific duties in a timely manner.
• Lead and organize monthly safety meetings with the golf course maintenance team.
• Monitor and record daily greens data (VWC, Firmness, soil temps, green speeds, clip volume).
• Assist the Director of Agronomy with planning of all agronomic practices on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Requirements:
A degree or certificate in Agronomy and Soils or related field.
Ability to obtain an Alabama Pesticide applicators license within 90 days of employment.
At least one year in a leadership role as a golf course assistant superintendent experience preferred including experience with pesticides/fertilizer usage and alternative methods of plant health management.
Ability to perform in a leadership role using basic prescribed management skills.
Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to assume responsibility and be a team leader.
Willingness to support the Pursell Farm Service Standards.
Ability to obtain an Alabama Pesticide applicators license within 90 days of employment.
Previous bentgrass experience in a southern climate is a plus.

Compensation:
$75,000 – $80,000 per year.
