Golf Course Superintendent
Resort in Carrabelle, Florida is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Duties:
• Supervise the mowing, watering and maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, and related areas.
• Supervise the planting, fertilizing and maintenance of turf.
• Oversee the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to maintain turf and plant health.
• Hire, orient and train landscape and maintenance staff as needed.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all outdoor areas.
• Monitor the condition of equipment and tools, arranging for repairs or replacements as necessary.
• Order supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, annual maintenance activities and expenses incurred.
• Prepare personnel and cost estimates for the annual maintenance department’s budget.
• Ensure that all grounds are kept clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and permit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement appropriate measures.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized services.

Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor of Science Degree in Turf Management or related field.
Minimum of 3 years as a golf course superintendent or similar title and/or 4+ years as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at an 18-hole course or larger.
GCSSA designation preferred.
Thorough knowledge of the construction of golf courses and the ability to maintain golf course tees, fairways, and greens.
Proficient with the maintenance of different types of turf used on golf courses, the planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants and shrubs.
Knowledge of the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers, soil conditioners, herbicides and pest control materials and methods.
Possess thorough knowledge and the ability to repair, maintain and install drainage control methods, and irrigations systems, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls.
Familiarity with groundskeeping equipment and tools.
Ability to diagnose and address common plant diseases or pests.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to maintain effective employee and public relations.
Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks and is frequently able to lift 50 pounds of weight.
Possess a participating knowledge of the game of golf.

Compensation:
$60,000 – $85,000 per year.
