Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Chardon, Ohio is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the course’s agronomic operations, ensuring exceptional playing conditions and turf health while remaining within budget. This position requires a strong understanding of turfgrass science, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team for optimal course maintenance.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive course maintenance program, including mowing, watering, fertilizing, weed control, and disease management.
• Manage the course budget for labor, equipment, supplies, and materials, optimizing resource allocation for cost-effective operations.
• Oversee the daily activities of the grounds crew, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance practices accordingly to ensure optimal turf health throughout the year.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and course designers on course improvement projects, renovations, and drainage improvements.
• Identify and implement environmentally sustainable practices for water conservation and pest control.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to pesticide use and environmental protection.
• Maintain a professional relationship with golfers, members, and guests, addressing concerns and feedback regarding course conditions.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in turfgrass management through continuing education and professional development.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management or equivalent, Horticulture, or a closely related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Proven track record of maintaining exceptional playing conditions on a golf course.
Strong understanding of turfgrass science, including disease and pest control, fertilization, and irrigation practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and supervise a team.
Budget management experience and a commitment to cost-effective operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with staff, golfers, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving situations.
Valid driver’s license and a good safety record.
Knowledge of pesticide application regulations (preferred).

Compensation:
$60,000 – $66,000 per year.
