Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Lakewood, Colorado is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Assists the Head Golf Course Professional with all functions which are important to daily golf course/clubhouse operations at both golf courses.

Duties:
• Assists with inventory control of pro shop, including receiving, pricing, displaying and accounts payable functions.
• Assists with organizing activities for the Men’s and Women’s Clubs and Junior Programs.
• Enforces all golf course policies and procedures.
• Manages the pro shop following appropriate procedures for golf course fees and charges in accordance with City policies and procedures.
• Teaches and administers golf clinics.
• Assists with and creates a very high degree of customer service and professionalism in the workplace.
• Assists with golf activities and operations with Golf Course Superintendent as well as with food and beverage managers.
• Oversees daily pro shop operations and assists with training of Variable staff for daily operational needs.
• Assists with staff meetings.
• Helps to plan, coordinate and conduct golf tournaments.
• Helps with surveys and other informational-gathering projects.
• Helps promote our facilities through off-site functions (i.e., golf expo, PGA meetings, LPGA meetings etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Knowledge of public golf course operations at both 18 and 27-hole facilities preferred.
Strong public relations skills.
Above-average golf-playing ability.
Computer and bookkeeping skills strongly preferred.
Ability to transport oneself to off-site locations.
Must have ability to work out of doors in all weather conditions.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Ability to resolve conflict in a professional manner.
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
Ability to use a variety of platforms including When to Work, Quick 18, Golf Genius, Pidj, etc.
Ability to use a computer for a variety of functions including taking reservations, checking email, etc.
Experience using Microsoft Office.
Experience working with Point of Sale (POS) systems preferred.
College degree strongly preferred.
Four or more years’ experience working at a public golf course or golf related facility. Experience in teaching golf to individuals, groups, and conducting clinics.
Experience performing other duties of an Assistant Golf Course Professional in some capacity as related to golf facility operations.
Experience in golf course merchandising to include ordering, receiving, inventorying and displaying of items preferred.
Experience in supervising golf tournament operations preferred.
“Class A” PGA member, LPGA member or registered apprentice in good standing.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Must successfully complete and maintain required state or departmental physical standards and certifications.
