Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Palmetto, Florida is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Works closely with the Superintendent to oversee daily golf course operations, maintenance practices, and staff management. This position is ideal for a turf professional seeking leadership development and hands-on experience with all aspects of golf course agronomy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing daily course maintenance activities.
• Supervise and train grounds crew staff in proper turf care techniques.
• Scout the golf course for turf health, pest issues, and irrigation needs.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems, including troubleshooting and repairs.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf products as directed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Maintain detailed records of chemical applications and maintenance practices.
• Help manage course setup for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all course equipment.
• Foster a safe and positive work environment for the team.

Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2 years of golf course maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferred.
Possession or ability to obtain a State Pesticide Applicator’s license
Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, disease management, irrigation systems, and best maintenance practices.
Ability to lead and motivate staff in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.

Compensation:
$41,600 – $46,800 per year.
