1st Assistant Golf Professional
Golf course in Marietta, Georgia is looking for a 1st Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Golf and assists that person in all golf operations at the club. The position is expected to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing all programs, events and tournaments that fall within the position’s functional areas. The position is also responsible for leading, managing and supervising all personnel, supplies and equipment assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership, supervision, and training to the personnel assigned to Golf Operations.
• Assist in all Junior Golf Programming.
• Assist the Tournament Director in the planning and coordination of all golf tournaments.
• Oversee golf cart fleet operations.
• Provide lessons for Members.
• Enforce policies and procedures governing the daily activities of Golf Operations.
• Leads and manages the Outside Golf Operation to include the cart attendants, starters, and ambassadors.
• Oversees and assists in the general cleanliness and neatness of the golf shop.
• Assists in the general merchandising of the golf shop, including purchasing, receiving, pricing, and inventory.

Requirements:
College degree preferred, have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a Golf Professional with management experience.
Must be in Level 2 of the PGM program with a good ability to play the game of golf and a comprehensive knowledge of the universal rules of the game.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and people skills are required.
A detailed understanding of golf operations, event planning, organizational and management principles are also required.
Knowledge of junior programming, merchandising, good teaching ability, and good knowledge of handicapping, accounting, and personnel-related matters.
Good supervisory and leadership skills and the ability to lead by example.
Good organizational and time management skills are important to the position.
Must possess good human relations skills and be able to relate courteously and tactfully to a wide variety of personalities.
