Summer Golf Course Intern
Golf course in North Stonington, Connecticut is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.

Position Overview:
Assist the Head Golf Professional with all activities relating to the management and execution of all golf operations; including but not limited to tournaments, outside staff service and operation, club repair, golf shop, practice facilities and instructional programs. It is anticipated that the growth of this position will be rapid. A successful candidate should expect to be constantly challenged to improve within this environment and be willing to take on new opportunities as they present themselves.

Duties:
• Assists in numerous tournaments from company outings to member events.
• Assists Retail Manager in maintaining golf shop inventory control system.
• Conducts and implements golf clinics.
• Manages USGA Handicap System.
• Manages the daily opening and closing golf operations.
• Manages and performs all duties pertaining to club repair.
• Coordinates junior golf activities and clinics.
• Performs outside duties as needed.
• Ensures golf course is properly marked and maintained for tournament play.
• Assists customers by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations.
• Administers all daily operations including golf shop sales, merchandising, operating the POS system and maintains tee sheet applications.
• Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional.
• Performs and operates under all club policies outlined in the employee manual.

Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Understanding computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Established leadership skills.
Ability to show reputation of quality and most importantly attention to detail
Willingness to work long hours, weekends and Holidays as demanded by the golf business cycle/season.
Candidates must have a professional appearance and must be able to communicate effectively with our golfers.
Candidates must also pass a drug test, lift roughly 50lbs and have reliable transportation.

Compensation:
$18.00 – $20.00 per hour.
