Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-in-Training
Golf course in Yakima, Washington is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent-in-Training.

Position Overview:
The position will be a hands-on and active position involved in all aspects of Golf Course Maintenance. Working directly under the Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant/Irrigation Tech and Golf Course Superintendent. Pure Distinction Bentgrass is maintained on all greens and Perrenial Ryegrass/Kentucky Bluegrass mix is maintained on Tee’s, Fairways, and Rough. This position will excel if the individual can effectively communicate daily observations with supervisors, ask questions, and actively seek information needed for becoming an Assistant Superintendent. This is a full-time, year-round position, but an opportunity will present itself near the end of our season (October).

Examples of daily roles to be performed are:
• Chemical/fertilizer mixing and applications.
• Daily mowing.
• Hand watering and greens care.
• Irrigation repairs.
• Drainage and course improvement projects.
• Vegetation management.
• Tractor and implement work.
• Course set-up.
• Equipment maintenance.
• Snow removal.
• Management of small crews and more.

Requirements:
2-4 year degree in turf management or a related field.
Prior experience in golf course maintenance.
Valid driver’s license.
Acquire a Washington State pesticides license within 90 days after the start date.
Maintain a professional demeanor and personal appearance.
Punctual; arrive at work on time.
Ability to work longer hours if time-sensitive jobs, tournaments, or weather demands.
Average A.I.T. hours worked are 40-50+ hours per week from May to October and 40 hours per week from November to April.
Desire and work ethic for growth in the golf course maintenance industry.

Compensation:
$23 – $26 per hour.
