Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Course in Gretna, Louisiana is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.

Position Overview:
Plays a critical role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by overseeing all aspects of the club’s outdoor services. This includes managing the golf cart fleet, range operations, bag drop area, and guest services on the course. The role blends leadership, customer service, and a deep understanding of the golf course operations to provide top-tier service to members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of Outside Services:
o Supervise and manage the outside services team, such as golf cart attendants, and marshals.
o Ensure all outside services are performed efficiently and to the highest standards.
o Oversee the preparation of golf carts, including cleaning, charging, and organizing them for use by golfers.
o Supervise the proper storage, maintenance, and handling of golf bags, clubs, and personal items.
o Ensure all guests are greeted with a professional, welcoming attitude and receive assistance with their bags and equipment.
2. Golf Course Operations:
o Maintain an organized and safe bag drop area, ensuring that golfers are promptly checked in and assisted as needed.
o Monitor the pace of play, coordinate with the Pro Shop and Course Marshall, and take appropriate action to ensure an enjoyable experience for all players.
o Assist with managing the practice range, ensuring range balls are properly collected, cleaned, and distributed.
o Ensure that range attendants and other outside service staff are properly trained and follow safety protocols.
3. Customer Service:
o Provide excellent customer service by responding to member and guest needs with professionalism and courtesy.
o Assist with event preparation, tournaments, and outings by managing logistics for outside services staff and coordinating with other departments.
o Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead by example and motivate the outside services team to maintain high standards of service and appearance.
o Train and mentor new staff members, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
o Schedule and coordinate shifts for outside services personnel, ensuring adequate coverage during busy times.
o Assist in the recruitment and hiring process for outside services staff.
5. Maintenance & Inventory:
o Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the outside service areas, including the bag drop, cart staging, and practice range.
o Oversee routine maintenance and upkeep of golf carts, ensuring they are in safe and operational condition.
o Assist with inventory management of golf carts, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely reordering and proper stock levels.
6. Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure all employees adhere to safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques, safe cart operations, and handling of equipment.
o Enforce all club rules, regulations, and policies for outside services staff and guests.
7. Collaboration with Other Departments:
o Work closely with the Pro Shop, Food & Beverage, and Golf Course Maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and an exceptional guest experience.
o Assist the Head Golf Professional and other managers with the coordination of golf tournaments, special events, and club activities.

Requirements:
PGA Member or Apprentice (or working toward PGA certification) preferred.
Strong understanding of golf operations and etiquette.
Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to interact positively with golfers, members, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Previous experience in golf operations, customer service, or outside services is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Proficiency in basic computer skills for managing scheduling, reporting, and inventory.

Compensation:
$15.00 – $20.00 per hour.
