Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Denver, Colorado is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Position Overview:
Reports directly to the Director of Grounds. Under their supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course; supervises the maintenance and repair of the irrigation system; and performs related work as required. The position will serve in the Director’s capacity during their absence.

Duties:
• Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, and fairways.
• Seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf.
• Planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners.
• Plant protectants and pest control methods and materials.
• Drainage control methods.
• Irrigation system, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls.

Requirements:
Certificate/degree from an accredited turf, agronomy, or horticulture program is preferred but not required.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions.
Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
Ability to maintain effective employee and public relations.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Possession of or ability to obtain state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.

Compensation:
$80,000 – $85,000 per year.
